Why is Assessment Important? 

"Assessment is the engine which drives student learning." 

Academic assessment plays a crucial role in the learning process. It helps measure your child's current progress in school and identifies their academic strengths and weaknesses. Our unique approach to assessing your child involves using our specialized assessment and gathering information from a thorough review of your child's school history, including past and current progress report cards.

We offer two types of assessment: 

Basic and Standard Assessment: This assessment is designed for students from kindergarten through 7th grade in Union City and surrounding areas.  Our in-house assessments offer multiple advantages, such as:

• Establishing benchmarks for families to evaluate your child's academic performance relative to peers in the same grade. 
• Identifying specific subject areas that require improvement and creating a personalized KEONI curriculum accordingly. 
• Assessing the best tutor-student pairing based on educational background and personality traits. 
• Please note that the basic assessment does not provide a report. 

Advisory Assessment: This assessment is designed for families across the Bay Area seeking guidance in selecting appropriate curriculum for their child. Our advisory assessment provides numerous advantages for these families. 

• We offer performance benchmarks for families and compare your child’s academic progress with that of other students in the same grade level.
• We recommend academic resources for your child, particularly for summer use. Please note that while we do not supply materials directly, we will provide links for online purchases. 
• We deliver a 6-month curriculum recommendation for your child to work on independently at home or with a guardian.
• We provide tutor personality recommendations, so when you are ready to seek tutors, you’ll know exactly what type of tutors to look for that would be conducive to your child’s learning needs. 
• If you choose to engage an in-home tutor or educator, we can assist in creating a 6-month curriculum. This includes recommending materials and devising a tutoring schedule for your child.
