Step 2:
The achievement assessment will take approximately 30 - 75 minutes depending on the grade level of the child and your subject choice of assessment. The assessment will include Reading, Writing, and Math. For a detailed explanation on what is involved in the assessment, please see our ASSESSMENT section. The achievement assessment is available for grades K-6th.
For students grades 7th - 12th, there will be an initial meeting instead. This gives us an opportunity to get to know the family and the child who is in need of tutoring. At the start of the meeting, depending on his or her maturity level, the director will first meet with the student one-on-one to learn more about their personality, interests, any worries in school, and more. Afterwards, the director will meet with the parent(s) and/or guardian(s) to briefly discuss their academic priorities and propose a academic or curriculum plan for the child.
Step 3:
An immediate consultation with the family follows after the assessment. The meeting will take 15 - 20 minutes, during which the director will share the results, along with observations, and propose a personalized curriculum plan. A trial session is offered during the meeting. This trial session will allow your child to learn more about our center, our instructors, and the proposed curriculum. After the trial session is over, the parent/guardian will receive a brief student session report along with a final recommendation to the curriculum.
