General Tutor (K-6)
Calling all high school seniors and undergraduate students! Are you looking for a fun and challenging part-time opportunity to supplement your studies? KEONI is seeking an enthusiastic and well-rounded general tutor, a "jack/jill of all trades" type with the ability to instruct students in a variety of subjects. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strength and flexibility in multiple areas of study, including humanities-based subjects.

About Us
KEONI Learning and Assessment is a learning center that started in Union City in 2017. Our teaching methodology includes providing high-quality, personalized instruction to students in a 1:2 ratio. We create individualized curriculum for our students based on our comprehensive assessment results. The purpose of this center is to offer high-quality academic programs to students at all levels and to inspire students to love learning again.
Responsibilities:
- Tutor K-6 students in math (up to pre-Algebra), reading, and writing
- Help students complete homework, create outlines/study guides, and practice for exams
- Create brief student progress reports
- Act as an educational coach and mentor, being sensitive to various factors that may affect a student's academic performance
Qualifications:
- At a minimum a high school senior or undergraduate student with a 3.5 GPA or higher
- Must be able to demonstrate marked proficiency in tutoring K-6 grade subjects
- Experience with Common Core State Standards is a plus
- Previous experience in providing education and support to families and/or working with children is a plus
Requirements:
- Must be willing to work a minimum of two days a week (Tutoring Hours: Monday - Thursday; 3:30 pm - 7:30 pm)
- Must be willing to commit to the school year (September - May)
- During the summer months of June and July, tutoring hours are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Must be able to work the entire time.
- Prospective applicants will be required to complete a qualifying assessment that covers reading, writing, and mathematics.
