General Tutor (K-6)

Calling all high school seniors and undergraduate students! Are you looking for a fun and challenging part-time opportunity to supplement your studies? KEONI is seeking an enthusiastic and well-rounded general tutor, a "jack/jill of all trades" type with the ability to instruct students in a variety of subjects. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strength and flexibility in multiple areas of study including humanities-based subjects.
 
Responsibilities:

• Tutor K-6 students in math (up to pre-Algebra), reading, and writing
• Help students complete homework, create outlines/study guides, and practice for exams
• Create brief student progress reports
• Act as educational coach and mentor, being sensitive to various factors that may affect a student's academic performance

 
Qualifications:

• At minimum a  high school senior or undergraduate student with a 3.5 GPA or higher
• Must be able to demonstrate marked proficiency in tutoring K-6 grade subjects 
• Experience with Common Core State Standards is a plus
• Previous experience in providing education and support to families and/or working with children is a plus

Requirements:

• Must be willing to work a minimum of two days in the week (Tutoring Hours: Monday - Thursday; 3:30 pm - 7:30 pm) 
• Prospective applicants will be asked to complete a qualifying assessment covering reading, writing, and math.
