About Us
KEONI Learning and Assessment is a “start-up” learning center based out of Union City. Our methodology of teaching includes providing high quality, personalized instruction to students on a 1:2 ratio. We create individualized curriculum for our students based on our comprehensive assessment results. The purpose of this center is to offer high quality academic programs to students at all levels, and to inspire students to love learning again.
Responsibilities:
- Tutor K-8 students in multiple styles of writing (including--but not limited to--narrative, expository, technical, and argumentative)
- Help students complete homework, create outlines, and proof-read essays
- Create brief student progress reports
- Act as educational coach and mentor, being sensitive to various factors that may affect a student's academic performance
- Greet students, parents, and other visitors as they enter the center
- General customer service
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as high school senior or undergraduate student with a 3.0 GPA or higher
- MUST be able to demonstrate marked proficiency in tutoring K-8 level writing
- Ability to tutor up to 10th grade level material (Honors English, AP Language/Literature) is a huge plus
- Experience with Common Core State Standards is a plus
- Previous experience in providing education and support to families and/or working with children is a plus
